how much is too much?!

lessons learned today.... #1...get out earlier so it's not so much at one time. I had to quit half way down the drive. The snow was heavy and deep and I had had it after an hour and a half. I did get Mildred's done but couldn't finish ours. We probably got 7 or so inches. #2....when feeling something hit your head check for ice balls at the end of your hair. I couldn't figure out what kept hitting me in the head. I'd look around and feel my face/ear area and thought I was going nuts. I somehow figured it was these little bugars at the end of my pony tail. #3.... try praying for snow and maybe you will get NONE. Praying for no snow isn't working. We are somewhere like the second snowiest Jan. on record! Where is Dago when I need him! Brooke was out of power, in KY. She possibly is still without lights. Very scary stuff there. Amber also said she was having ice, snow, ice in DC. I'd guess all is sunny in AZ. I did not connect with Ash today to get her weather update.

Sunday Jan 18. Happy Birthday Evette and Karen

Sunday was Kristian's belated B-day party. We woke up to MORE SNOW! Dago and Ash couldn't wait to get at it. Mildred was also trying to clean hers off so Dago took her shovel and did it for her. She was very happy! Dago is helping zip up ashlin's coat. AWWWW....Amber looks like I feel....a bit fuzzy after the full days and sleepless nights! I got a total of 14 hours sleep for three nights. I typically get 24 hours sleep in that amount of time. zzzzzzzz Apollo had all the girls attention for this pic. He had fun here but the party was a bit much and he hung out in the LR. The party was great fun as you will see. Dago and Cynthia tried out Kristian's lift later in the day. Dago wasn't sure about the straps between his legs! OUCH! The hands on the belly are Ashlin's mine and my mom's. Great Great Grandma Rupp was out of town in sunny florida so we are missing her hand! BUMMER!

Sat. Jan. 17 Baby Shower

What a cold snowy day we had. It started out at -16 and snowing. As you will see Evette and her girls all came surprising Ash and Dago. It was obviously God's hand getting everyone here safely and on time. Brooke arrived after a 5 hour drive Friday night around supper time. I was up in Detroit waiting for Ashlin and Dago to fly in. It was near 7 PM when they called for me to swing into the arrivals lane and pick them up. Evette and two of her girls took off from PA around 5PM while her older two were flying into Pittsburgh from NC. She was half way into her drive here when picking them up. We were all traveling at one time..... four flying and 7 driving. Amber and Jess (apollo too) was coming in from DC and on our way home from Detroit we found out they were just 7 miles behind us on the freeway. It was really amazing how it all came together. Evette and her girls didn't get in until around 2:30AM but we had made reservations at a hotel so they cold suprise Ash and Dago the next morning. (actually the same day but they did get a little sleep before coming over) You can see them at their hotel...Karen and Lil Evette look mad, sad or something at what they woke up too. You can see in the pics we already had a bunch of snow from the days before they arrived. We certainly didn't need anymore. Ash and Dago was a bit excited to see it come down and even couldn't wait to shovel the stuff around. (that don't last!!!) They did great..thanks for helping out. Too bad I didn't give Dago the shovel before going out and having my hair go flat after spending an hour curling it! LOL (UGH!! Good thing I don't get worked up over the small stuff. The shower went off fine without my curls!) LOL The last time all our girls were together was in 1996 in Havelock NC. you can see a pic below of them and their ages. We tried to stage the new pic. with them all in the same order. Kristian thought we were funny. Also, you'll notice we are laughing with the Kristian pic. Brooke hollared like Kristian ran over her foot. Well, for those of you that know jumpy Kristain he didn't let her down and it really made us laugh! Poor Kristian...LOL We had an awesome time. Even had time to play lots of the card game "scum". Wow 12 people around the table that was a hoot. Four decks of cards is not easy to shuffle!
