Christmas Day 08

The day started off a bit differently than most. Kristian was gone, although you'll see him in a pic below that was taken just a few days before he left. Brooke and I opened up out gifts and then went to Grandma Ruffer's for lunch then onto my dad and mom's for Stickley Christmas. As you can see my nephew showed up sporting his new santa suit that he received earlier in the day. You can also see my nephew Justin's wife, Linde, sporting her baby bump. She is just weeks away from delivery. She was due on Jan 13. =)

Backtracking!

I got ahead of myself posting Myrtle Beach pics. Here are some of the pics from the weeks previous!

The weekend of Dec. 20 Kristian and I went to KY to pick up Brooke and went onto Nashville to meet Kris and Melissa so he could go spend a few weeks in Florida. Brooke and I stopped by the Opryland hotel to see the sights. I stayed at this hotel long ago and it looked nothing like I remembered. It's absolutely amazing and if ever in Nashville you MUST at least walk through it. Stay if you can but it is costly! =)

One of the items I bought while doing some of our outlet shopping was a pair of boots from the Timberland outlet. They came in handy the first morning of 2009 when I wanted to catch the first sunrise of the year. It was frigid 29 degrees and then it was so windy...... it was probably feeling more like 20 degrees. I was SO cold at the beach taking sunrise pics. HOWEVER my feet were warm! =) Probably not to many people wear their thermolite waterproof timberland SNOW boots to the beach! LOL I bet the other people seeing me were wishing they had a pair. ;) I also snapped some of the sights I miss seeing living in NW Ohio, I also snapped a few pics of sights I've never seen. Apples stuck on the ends of a cactus plant and Christmas bows stuck all around the door and window frames....HUM.....ya never know! PS...that is a huge jelly fish by my foot! EWWWW......Good bye to coastal Carolina and Myrtle Beach. What a great visit!

Susan and I did go on a Suncruz Casino ship for a 6 hr. trip on thurs. evening. We could not take any pic. while on the cruz but anyone interested in the details can contact Susan or I for details! =)

Oh Mr. Sun Sun Mr. Golden Sun Please shine down on me!!

Happy New year!!
This was the very first sunrise of 2009!

New years Eve .....saying goodbye to 2008 took us to dinner at Carraba's then Broadway at the Beach for fireworks and more. I'd highly recommend both places to anyone that hasn't eaten at Carraba's or anyone that visits Myrtle Beach checking out Broadway at the beach. It was very cold this particular evening with temps and wind chills in the lower 40's upper 30's...brrrr. We enjoyed the fireworks around 8PM but didn't stay to welcome the new year. We figured it would come with or without us. =)

Amy's Poem

Amy's gone where rainbows go
To a place we don't yet know.
Where passed on family and friends unite,
And no one's ever alone.

Where chimneys emit golden smoke,
And songbirds learn their song.
Where no one hurts and no one's ill,
And even time stands still.

Where angels turn the covers down
For anyone who nods,
Saints waited for her by pearly gates ---
When Amy goes where Amy's gone.

Amy..
went to the hospital with a kidney infection.
She was having trouble breathing, so they kept her
in the ICU for a few days.
Her vitals were excellent, so no one thought there w
was a problem.
On Saturday (the week before Christmas), she had a full
respiratory and cardiac arrest at 230am.
The doctor and nurses didn't insert her breathing tube
correctly.
So she was deprived of oxygen for 8 minutes, and they
killed her brain.
She was declared brain dead on Sunday.
They were able to use a lot of her organs and bone
matter, so they took her on Christmas
night at 10 to harvest her organs.
Please tell anyone that may ask, I don't
have the heart to keep telling people.
Thanks Brenda.
I hope all is well.
