Ok....as you walk in the side door you were greated with this pile of "stuff"....it was my mission to make this look better. As you can see I did make the room look better...if you look a little further you'll see some of the "stuff" made it's way elsewhere...LOL...oh BTW Did I tell you all about my corner shelf for the guest bathroom? It's another one of my good deals. I love bargains!! I'll have to try to get some of that "stuff" in it's place...wherever that is?!

Labor day that is was! Well, after a morning of running around I was able to join the faithful Howard's and get some work done. I didn't know Andy was that upset with me. How did I miss that?! Guess I was too busy smiling at Brooke with my camera. Jerry also was a trooper and joined the gang today to get more block laid. I tried and as I suspected the stuff fell to the ground before getting it on the wall. WHOOPS! Atleast I tried! Sandy and I are good at finishing and misc. stuff we will leave the block laying to the experts! Good job Andy, Scott and Jerry!! =) Ok, the living room and porch is nearly complete now onto the Garage. Thanks for all your support and prayers...Keep them coming! =) God has given us great weather and safety. The rest of the schedule is in His hands. Thanks again for everyones help on site! Awesome family and friends! Thank you God!! O=)

Wow, what a day we had! As it turned out today was my Birthday. What a treat to be able to spend it with some fantastic friends and family. We worked on laying block today, also taking off siding and to top the day off we (Brian and Larry) were able to conquer the electrical issues. Now all lights work (except the bad one/two that needs to go back) and that really thrilled me. So in the second photo you'll see Susan and Jerry looking at a finishing tool that fell into a block. It fell all the way to the bottom off the fourth block. WHOOPS...Sue to the rescue with several grabber tools. Susan was able to fish it out and was elated when mission was accomplished! Also, you'll notice the Coll family putting together an entertainment cabinet. Also here are some of the b-day goodies that came today. I also got candles, candy (don't need that) and 11 birthday card well wishes...oh $ too which is always fun. I hear I have more to come. This year I officially will celebrate for the entire month so it will be nice having things linger in as I continue to celebrate my B-day month! ;) One pic will show my brother sitting on Kristian's bedroom floor working on an outlet. The problem with Kristian's room was one outlet never made it past the drywall and the wires were never connected, thus no lights or power for Kristian. Good job Brian for pointing out the possibility of an outlet covered and thank goodness I take an annoying amount of pics and we could find the missing one in a pic. With a handy tape measure, and the pic of the wiring day, Brian hit it right on. Another mission accomplished moment! Let there be light!! The front block should be done by Monday! Andy is a great site manager! Way to go kid!! =) Thank you all for coming!

well, as you can see Kristian had a wonderful time playing with Andy's dog "Cookie", she is adorable! Sandy and Mildred kept Kristian company while I did a little of this and that. Andy and Scott got things going tonight and tomorrow we will have a group of volunteers lend a helping hand. Once again thanks to the Howard's for all their hard work! =)

Today was a busy day at the house. Joe and Tyson got it excavated so that Andy could come and dig the footer. Scott grabbed his boots and shovel to give Andy a hand. "Thanks SO MUCH for all you do Howard's!" Sandy showed up after work to bring the guys cold drinks. While looking you can see where the driveway will be. Also, you can see where the garage, living room and porch will be. Looking forward to seeing it come together. Oh did I mention a gas line was hit the other day......well you can see it running through the NE corner of the garage. Hoping it gets shut off/ cut off before laying block. In the one pic you can see a gentleman with Sandy, Scott and Andy. This is Phil Liechty. He grew up on this property and has stopped by several times. He said the gas line had to be put in before 1940 sometime. His family never used it. Very interesting to hear the history of our property. He can tell back to the early 1900's. How fun!
